When trying to save an assembly out as a JT I'm getting an error that simply says the location of my file with assembly.asm cannot be saved.
Any idea what may be going on?
On one of my first internships and was assigned a problem I'm pretty intimidated by. I'm not looking for someone to give me the answer outright, but just tell me which specs are pertinent, what info is needed, calculations to use, etc. And then maybe help me as I work through things.
We're...
I've seen this issue forever in SE ST9 and never been able to figure out why it happens.
I'll have an assembly, and seemingly out of nowhere a part will 'jump' across the screen and be constrained in some really strange place or orientation, and it'll show some blown up constraints. If I click...
I know I've seen this feature before, and now it doesn't seem to be working.
Let's say I have a large assembly open, with lots of sub-assemblies. I want to know how many instances of a particular part is used across everything (maybe a bolt). I select one, choose select "select all identical...
I need to put a male R1/4 thread on a cylinder. My problem is G and R 1/4 both have a major diameter of 13.157, so when I try to put threads on there it defaults to G1/4.
How do I change this?
Can you give me some steps on how to do that? This is what my tree looks like right now...
I have 22,000 part copies and 148 solid bodies under the Construction Bodies tab. If I right click a part copy I can create a base feature, but then it will only let me create one.
I have an assembly from a vendor that I'm really only using for reference in one of my assemblies. For simplification purposes, I saved the assembly out as a step and then opened it as a part to put into my assembly.
It comes in as a part with lots of part copies. I need to add some cut-outs to...
I've got a file sent to me that was a pretty large assembly, that was saved down to a step file. I have hundreds of part copies in the file. Is there a way to simplify all those pieces... maybe into a body feature? Or just any way that will make it easier to work with even if the individual...
I use Inventor quite a bit, and in that you can create a pattern that you could select a part, let's say a support beam between two parts... and tell it to pattern that beam 10 times, with 20mm in between each one.
Is this possible in Edge? I know you can pattern things like hardware to holes...
See screenshot...
These weld nuts are showing in some places, and not in others. They're modeled as a body feature, but my display settings are the same for all of them. I've set tangent edges to tangent, and I checked the box to show intersections. Any...
Looks like I figured out my own question. I used a "jog" with a distance of .001 that should work, but if anyone has any other suggestions I'd be happy to hear them for future reference as well.
I've used inventor quite a bit, and am able to create what I believe is called an offset hem, basically bumping out 2 flanges, but only bumps out the thickness of your sheet, so that one sheet can overlap another.
Is this possible in SE? I saw under the hem properties I can change the hem type...
So I just looked into alternate position assy's.
Am I correct that you can only change off-sets between positions this way? If I wanted to make some pretty drastic changes, then it seems like this won't work?
I'm trying to create a draft that shows an assembly's center of gravity, and how it moves when the part is tilted in multiple directions.
I'd like to be able to land all of them on one sheet, from the same model. View Configs don't save the change in constraints however. Is there any way to...
