Why use copper pipes instead of PVC pipe for all water and non-potable lateral?

Thanks, ALL. We need to test the water pipe for 200 psi. The lateral pipe is smaller than main. is it because of lateral pipe experiencing higher pressure during testing and PVC can't take the pressure?

    Horizontal Joints in Water Tanks

Hi HOKIE66: Starter wall about 2-3" and horizontal keyed joint with water stop. After pressure water wash, I may use expandable water stop or PVC. I am not sure yet. I am asking because at the bottom wall level, the concrete shrinkage could be managed well due to enough time between slab and...

    Horizontal Joints in Water Tanks

Hi, I am working on new waste-water digester concrete tank construction. I am wondering if horizontal construction joints are allowed during the tank wall construction. It is 40ft diameter and 40 ft height circular shape concrete tank. I heard only vertical construction joints are permitted due...

    Steel stair bearing support

BAretired: Thanks for your kind explanation. I think, your explanation is valid under the condition that bottom of stair will be perfectly level all the time. Am I right? While installing the stair, we may need steel shim plates to make it level. However, I think the bottom will constantly...

    concrete joint reinforcing details

JAE: I got ACI 132R-14, and found useful information. Thank you so much for the information. The design engineer is claiming that ACI 132R-14 is not the part of ACI 318 and 315 (these two codes were only mentioned in the general notes). So, we cannot refer to ACI 132R-14. How can we relate ACI...
