Connecting Power Supply -DC to GND

Anecdotally, I almost think it depends upon the buildings earth ground and if it's any good. Bad ground, then the DC side of the power supply can not float. Is this valid?

Connecting Power Supply -DC to GND

On a PLC DAQ system, do you connect your -DC on the power supply to GND?

    Arduino to Motor Controller Communication

We do medium volume with our distributor so we get good prices. Shop around. If you paid what your link lists as 195 euros for the Controllino, I just bought a SM35-J-R20 for less.

    Arduino to Motor Controller Communication

I wouldn't reinvent the wheel. The PLC looks like its a beta and its not very cheap. You could get an AD Click or Unitronics Samba for that kind of money and have actual development capabilities, tech support, HMI, ladder etc. Wiring doesn't look that difficult and once you understand it...

    Arduino to Motor Controller Communication

Like I said - scrap the “SMC – LECP6 Step Motor Controller” and get a cheap motor controller shield like the: http://www.robotshop.com/en/arduino-compatible-mega-motor-shield-1a-5-28v.html - it will be much easier and thern figure out with a multimeter which wires to hook up to where...

    Arduino to Motor Controller Communication

You use an API to control the 3rd party software/hardware with something like C# or VB.net and it has built in functions and classes. What are you doing with the actuator? What is the feedback? Changing the wiring and understanding it is part of the problem/solution. I would use the cheap...

    Arduino to Motor Controller Communication

or use a shield like this maybe: http://www.robotshop.com/en/arduino-compatible-mega-motor-shield-1a-5-28v.html or for lower voltage/amps try: Adafruit Motor/Stepper/Servo Shield for Arduino v2 Kit - v2.3 https://www.adafruit.com/product/1438

Any idea what this symbol is?

Yes maybe a one directional flow body for the pH probe? That arrow in the symbol is what makes me think there is something more.

Any idea what this symbol is?

This is what it looks like in the field. Flow is from the top and back then down and out the bottom. Could be a port or flow body? Flow switch? Bleeder valve? It might be the pH meter I guess. I could be confusing the symbol with this and they are not the same.

    Help identify P&ID symbol

Umm yes, if there was a key or legend or an answer in the back of the book, I wouldn't waste everyone's time. On the legend there is a flow switch entry that doesn't have any pictogramme associated with it so just to further muddle the matter...I don't think its a flow switch but its possible I...

    Help identify P&ID symbol

Here is a picture of what it actually looks like in the field. You are looking directly at it. The flow is from the back and then down I think. So that is the question: What is this? And also why are there two lines coming out that go to nothing, I don't know that's all there is? I...

Any idea what this symbol is?

Hi - I have attached a picture of the symbol. It is the one to the left of the pH meter. Is is part of a pH water control loop. Does anyone know what it could be? The piping is 3/4" PVC SCH80. I think it is some kind of check valve w/ injection port or bleed port. Thanks in...

Do you work in an "Open Office Space"?

I have had a private office, shared office, open lab with desks, cubicles, and an open office. The worst, by far, and a deal breaker for me is the open office plan. Noise can be dealt with, but as LynnB stated, its the eye contact and visual distractions that got to me and destroyed my...

Yes, that's the problem - the NOM listing in Mexico. Here is the Precision Digital you were talking about as well: https://www.predig.com/pdw30

    Wireless Transmitter/Receiver

From your first option above, this looks promising and can be used in Mexico but it's a little expensive, has extra DI/DO and only IP 20 : Phoenix Contacts RAD-ISM-900-SET-DC-UD - 2867034...

    Wireless Transmitter/Receiver

Thank you for the post danw2, very good info. This will be used in Mexico, any experience with 900 MHz regulations there? I read something about 1 yr to 18 months for approval time.
