    Sulphuric Acid pipeline decommissioning

by pigging with spheres, don't they end up in the spare connections 1,2,3? Littleinch, expansions loops are vertical..rotate the picture to left.. For the elevation, what do you mean with bit? I will inform myself on piglets. by the way, if the line is unpiggable, is it admissible to...

    Sulphuric Acid pipeline decommissioning

Here is a simplified sketch. line is from Valve A to Valve B. Spare connections (1,2,3) of about 1 metre each, blind flanged

    Sulphuric Acid pipeline decommissioning

I just received the sketches of the line...there are three tees, so the line is unpiggable :(

    Sulphuric Acid pipeline decommissioning

for EdStainless..what about displacement with gasoil??

    Sulphuric Acid pipeline decommissioning

I am not able to upload the sketch... simply it is a mile of piping with four vertical expansion loops (U bend) like this https://goo.gl/images/5aZcYn. the pipeline starts on a foreshore area, overpass a public road and lays on a trestle offshore up to a marine loading platform. clearly it was...

    Sulphuric Acid pipeline decommissioning

I am also thinking at the acid displacement with an inert and immiscible fluid, so to avoid pigging...it seems a safer solution if praticable

    Sulphuric Acid pipeline decommissioning

Thank you, I will show a drawing shortly

    Sulphuric Acid pipeline decommissioning

Hi forum! We are decommissioning a 8" pipeline in service for sulphuric acid 98%, 1 mile. we intend to drain the line and after neutralize, but the problem is reaching a sufficient draining of acid. No drains are installed and the line and seems not piggable due to vertical expansion joints...

    leak test of underwater pipeline

Thank you mk3223, ROV seems not practicable, the water is murky and the pipelines were originally buried by inert material (1 meter) and the actual seabed is 1 meter over the inert material.. smart pig is not practicable since the pipeline was recently repaired by cured in place pipe lining...

    leak test of underwater pipeline

Thank you Littleinch, I will be more precise: - there are eight lines in parallel in the canal (for gasoil, gasoline, cherosene, crude oil) - the pipeline is 30 inch diameter, the biggest in the canal, wall tickness is 13 mm, 150 m lenght in the canal - the pipeline was recently repaired by...

    leak test of underwater pipeline

Case of a 40 years old oil pipeline crossing a canal in parallel with other hydrocarbon pipelines. Following a leakage detection, the oil pipeline was repaired by posing internal sleeve of thermosettling resin. the subsequent 48h hydrotest of the pipeline did not show any leakage, even if...
