uhm... for foundations underneath the soil.. is there air enough to cause reduction of alkalinity by carbonation (that should occur due to exposure to air)?
problem with hammer drill is it can vibrate the floor or concrete gutter such that it can cause micro molecular detachment between the floor or gutter to the support connecting them. Concrete bond can be attachement by any strong vibrations... that's why I don't want to use a hammer drill or...
My only option is to drill a bunch of 3/8" holes around the 2" perimeter. I can't use core drilling machine and I can't even use hammer drill.. just ordinary drill.. you mean it's not possible using ordinary drill (with hammer function)?
But won't the dams constant wetness results in, as hokie put it "the alkalinity of the concrete being reduced to the level where the steel is not protected from the atmospheric conditions".. this should cause dams rebars to corrode and all dams fail at certain time.. doesn't it.. you mean not...
Oh.. which reminds me to ask this question.. some old houses have foundations with water always running around them.. what usually happens to such foundations that is always wet?
A room with 5 inches of slab has no floor drain. A 2 inches diameter drain is needed. Has anyone tried successfully drilling the hole with a 1/3 inch drilling machine bit.. I mean you can't make a perfect hole where the pvc tube could be inserted.. can you just put sealant on the perimeter if...
For a concrete gutter that is not waterproof with the rainwater just flowing out of a hole in the concrete. The concrete won't get soft even after decades? What happens if there is severe calcium compound leaching after decades?
I'm asking because many old buildings have concrete gutter...
Ok. I'll use the Sikatop Seal 107. This is the only one available in my country. Has anyone tried using it in the shower area of the bathroom? Or the entire bathroom?

ok.. i'll get the liquid applied membrane.. but my question is the perimeter between pipe and concrete.. is this liquid applied membrane enough to seal the space between the pipe and concrete.. what do you guys use here?
dik.. if no membrane is used in the shower area floor but only waterproofing paint.. and water seep into the concrete below the tiles, what would happen to the concrete? Is the concern the bars inside can be damaged or water can seep from the concrete and condense on the ceiling below? But this...
what roof?
No. It's a bathroom in the 2nd floor of a residential house. Is it a requirement to use some type of membrane over the entire shower area.. or can you use waterproofing paint (including filling the perimeter between drain and concrete)?
The pipe is just cut at the end coinciding...
In my country. All use torch-on sheet waterproofing membrane like in
http://s3tasia.com/product/bituminous-membrane/
This is expensive, and most said this is the only way to enclose the drain hole like in the picture above. Do you use this too? Why not? and besides cutting a reglet beside the...
For drains where there are pvc tube inside concrete.. what do you use for waterproofing to ensure water won't enter the sides (in between the pipe and concrete)? We usually use asphalt membrane enclosing the tube end on surface of drain but we can't use it in a particular case. Is there some...
