Thank you for your responses @DekDee and @JR97. I appreciate it.
My company's standard states only the first part as a criteria of selection. That means if it is X-ray then fine grain film and if it is J-ray then ultra fine grain film.
Now it has been pointed out to me that this basis of...
Which criteria of RT Film selection is correct and why?
According to the Type of Source:-
For X-ray fine grain and for J-ray Ultra fine grain (Such as Agfa D4 and Kodak Industries MX)
OR
According to ASTM E1815, Which states the following:-
"Various codes and specifications require film...
Is inter-turn insulation impulse test and main insulation impulse test required for Jockey pumps? There is a inspection and test plan for a jockey pump motor with 415V,which has no mentioning of these tests.

Metengr, there are two clauses:-
Under Full RT: "(-b) Category B or C butt welds [but not including those in nozzles and communicating chambers except as required in (4) above] which intersect the Category A butt welds in the shell or heads of vessels or connect seamless vessel shell or heads...
@metengr Thank you for replying. Where can I find the RT requirements in the code for butt weld joints (if the equipment contains components which require impact testing)?
1) I am aware of the impact testing exemption clauses in ASME SEC 8 Div. 1, but how do you decide if impact testing is required or not?
2) Some specifications demands 100% RT for all butt weld joints if the equipment contain any component that requires impact testing, where can I find this RT...
It just came to my attention that the specification classifies it as "heat input must be less than 25 w-s" whereas the ASME classifies it as "energy output should be less than 125 w-s". Is there a difference? or a way to calculate the heat input?
Thank you metengr for replying. I have a specification that limits it to 25 w-s. I need to understand the basis of that. I can't find any reference for the heat input value in any code aside from ASME. Can you suggest for me where to research?
When attaching thermocouples to pressure boundary via capacitance discharge welding the energy output should be limited to 125 W-S as per ASME Sec 8 Div. 2. Why is this limitation? Can it be lower than 125 W-S?

What is the difference between Inconel 625 and Incoloy 825?
According to my research I found out the difference in composition as the first is Ni-Cr alloy and the second is Ni-Fe-Cr alloy. Thus, Inconel 625 has a better corrosion resistance than Incoloy 825.
The second difference is the...
