I have been involved with testing Al.7068-t6511 for some of our applications. We have performed room temp and elevated temp tensile and fatigue testing with good results.
We have also have tested in a few applications with short cycles.
My manager is weary about producing more...
E85 pump is more like 96-98 octane from realistic measurements that I have seen.
I think 14:1 CR is stretching it..
I'd feel more comfortable at 13:1 max or lower.
On a boosted engine..I'd feel comfortable at 12:1 max and must run high octane or very low boost if on 91/93octane.
