US Overseeing Company Completing Work in Canada

In Ontario, there's an industrial exemption. But only if it's directly related to the manufacturing of the product. My interpretation of this is that if it's part of the production line, it's exempt and doesn't need a P.Eng stamp. So I'm assuming these boilers are part of the "utilities" in your...

    Soft starter rating selection

I made the mistake once of buying a soft start that was rated the same HP as my motor. We were running a very high inertial load though, and ran into problems where the soft start would fault on a SCR HI TEMP alarm. Not sure if you're using Rockwell soft starts, but they have a tool, here...

    Split Wage for Engineer

    Split Wage for Engineer

I should also add that I'd be the first P.Eng at this company. So I'm basically their ticket to more revenue/opportunities.

    Split Wage for Engineer

I'm currently an electrical designer doing control system design / PLC programming at a manufacturing plant. I'm about to get my P.Eng and my employer is saying I would then get a split wage. One wage for when I'm doing my design work, and another wage for when I'm doing engineer work. My...

    Where to find a mentor

I'm in a similar position as OP. I'm just about to get my P.Eng. I work at a manufacturing plant's in-house design firm. Once I do become a P.Eng, my manager (not a P.Eng) has expressed that he'd like to start offering engineering services to our client and potentially outside clients as well...
