You'd need a geotechnical survey. That calculation only considers water at 62.4 lbs per cubic foot. Once you have the correct figure, you can simply enter it in cell F6 (Specific weight of water). Now thinking about your question, I should labeled this Specific Weight of Medium, and clarified...
Please see the attached calculation. As a new member, I wasn't aware I could attach documents to the threads (Thanks for the email David!... Now it seems painfully obvious). The document is locked and formulas hidden to keep people from breaking them. To unlock, just unlock it... no password...
DDGrayPPD is correct, you don't show connection specs on P&ID's, that's saved for specific line Isometric drawings. P&ID's show a line number, built from a standard that you will reference to determine the correct connection for that specific line, size, and fitting.
Anyone ever seen damage like this on a CO2 recip compressor?
Low hours, we are only about half the water vapor we designed for, normal pressures/temps.
I've got a theory of tight tolerances and piston ring thermal growth, leading to friction, leading to excessive heating and more growth until...
If you would like, I did a calculation a while back based on a few common parameters around concrete coating pipe or using anchor blocks for bouyancy control. I pulled ALL the API 5L pipe grades and weights into the table and made it bulletproof.
It's the only time since college I used the...
Thank you all for your feedback.
Ironiclly, I've done a lot of Alaskan contracting, and they use Bentley AutoPlant up there (formerly Rebis). I cut my teeth on vessel design using Rebis. Good stuff.
Thanks again all. Looks like I have some research to do and a decision to make!
You're killing me smalls. Simple question of what's out there. As far as using trial versions, I know of 3 and am playing with them. SnTMan, I'm doing exactly that now, taking a current vessel and rebuilding it in DesignCalcs. Haven't gotten a response from PVE at all, and let's just say I'm...
Actually XL83NL, I'm trying to get a CURRENT list of pressure vessel design softwares, and input as to their usefulness based on user experiences. What I don't need are unhelpful responses.
I know of the following:
1) Compress
2) DesignCalcs (trial version installed and test driving this now... good customer service out of them too)
3) PV Elite
Does anyone have any experience using all 3? Which do you prefer and why?
I was able to find an old post, and the interwebs and google want to sell me every dern software known to man. What are the industry leading softwares for designing pressure vessels to ASME BPVC Sec VIII, Div 1 AND 2, DNV, (and other equivalent international standards) and can do TEMA heat...
I used to be a "fed", so forgive me for the data dump for which you are about to receive, but I know where to find it, and how to get access whereas many people don't:
For federal pipeline codes see the CFR's.
