Voltage given from the secondary of the capacitive voltage transformer

If I close the potential ground switch, I will be short-circuiting P1 and P2, which I believe will cause my test equipment to draw excessive current when I apply voltage from the secondary side during testing. Therefore, I think this circuit should remain open during testing. Am I thinking wrong?

Voltage given from the secondary of the capacitive voltage transformer

Hello everyone, During relay testing, we apply voltage to the secondary of the capacitive voltage transformer (CVT). Some colleagues disconnect the secondary terminals going to the field, believing that high voltage may appear on the primary side during the test. However, I think this is...

Kingsine or other brand relay test kits

As far as I can see, the device uses software similar to Omicron's software. Additionally, according to them, they have customers such as Siemens PLC UK and National Grid. Our customers want protection relays to be tested accurately using a calibrated test device. However, as you mentioned, if...

Kingsine or other brand relay test kits

Thank you for your response. Which brands did you use before these devices, and can you compare them? Also, why did you choose the K86P instead of the K85P? Can IEC 61850 communication and IED Scout be used with the device you are using?

Kingsine or other brand relay test kits

The truth is, we liked this model: https://www.kingsine.com/products/kf85p-universal-relay-test-set/. This model does not have a screen either but its interface is somewhat similar to Omicron and the price is relatively affordable. We are primarily considering it for distance protection busbar...

Kingsine or other brand relay test kits

Hello everyone . We have used relay test kits from brands like Kingsine, Omicron CMC356, Sverker, and Freja. Among them, Omicron was the most user-friendly. However, the Kingsine relay test kit also caught our attention as its computer interface seems quite practical. According to the...

Soil electrical resistivity measurements for a wind turbine location

Thank you for your response. To be honest, when I look at the literature, there doesn’t seem to be a universally agreed-upon number of traverses. However, it is generally recommended to perform at least two measurements. Previously, four measurements were conducted at the turbine site, and...

Soil electrical resistivity measurements for a wind turbine location

    Hello everyone, I wonder if 2 90 degree cross measurements (traverses) are sufficient in the wind turbine field? According to BN 50522, spans (a = 1 m - 1.5 m - 2m - 3m - 4.5m - 6m - 9m - 13.5m) are recommended as amax = 13.5 m. Does anyone have a different comment or advice on this subject?

    Soil resistivity measurement

I think you are scanning the area, at the end we are going to take average of measuremnets. I haven't seen any suggestion about traverse numbers. Do you have a special reason for 9 or 10 measurements?

    Soil resistivity measurement

That is right, I asked for mostly solar, wind power plants, and power substations. As I understand there is no consensus about number of traverses.

    Soil resistivity measurement

Hi all. How many measurements do I need for soil resistivity? Some say 2 measurements are enough, while others say 5 measurements are needed (1 for each edge and cross section). What do you suggest? I've even seen 10 measurements. As you know, I'll take the average of these measurements. I want...
