Hi all,
I have multiple CO2 bottles connected by a header to two regulators in series. The second regulator acts as the protection device in case the first stage regulator fails. I am having an issue where the second regulator tends to freeze up due to the JT effect. This is a high flow...
The way I would look at a pinhole leak is using the formulas available in Cameron Hydraulic Data under Flow Through Orifices and Nozzles which I think you did and use the results as the worst-case scenario.
Good morning/afternoon/evening to you all,
I am looking for some information on flotation cells sizing and engineering in the mining industry. Would any of you have a handbook to recommend?
Thanks!

What is the size of the wet well and how is the pump controlled? floats or a level sensor?
The number of start/stop is normally determined by the wet well size. If at all possible, you can lower the amount of daily start/stop by raising the pump start float.
On the pipe size, I would not go...
Thanks for the info. What I am looking for is to slope the pipe so it drains back to the tank. For a water line, you would normally look at 1/4" per 1'. I was wondering if there is an acid equivalent.
Thanks.
Good day all,
I am trying to find a reference or good practice for the slope of a sulfuric acid line. Do you guys have any advice?
Thank you all for your help!
Hi LittleInch,
Like always thank you for your contribution to my post. I am not talking about a system in particular. I am only looking for a rule of thumb or guidance as to when each type of system is most appropriate.
Thanks!
Hi Keith,
Thanks for your answer! By head tank, I mean large elevated tanks where the water is pumped to create constant pressure. They are normally used on industrial sites such as mines.
Good day all,
I would like to solicit your knowledge and experience regarding pumping systems requiring constant pressure. When would you select a VFD or a head tank? When would you consider each option and why?
Thanks!

Hi LittleInch,
I am well aware that the pipeline needs to be made safe prior to work. What I am really trying to determine is if someone more knowledgable then I can suggest a better method then purging with water before we go ahead with it. The real problem is the pipeline location, making...
Thank you for your input everyone, I was trying to see if there was a way to avoid contaminating 100,000 USG of water but you are totally right about the flammability of Oil No.2 vapour.
Greetings all,
I have a quick question about pipeline repair procedures. We will be cutting out some pipeline sections to replace them. What is the normal work procedure? Obviously, the sections will be drained of fluid but is a total purge also necessary? The operator suggests that the...
Good day everyone,
I was wondering if any of you know of a software that can scan codes and automatically create cross-references?
For example, clicking on 4.3.2.1 in a sentence would bring you to that section in the document.
Thanks!

Dhurjati Sen,
Thank you for your help. I will follow your advice next time I post.
I reviewed the information I have and it seems that some spools are rolled and not seamless. If this is the case, I assume the material defaults in that region might be lamination? Do you have any insight on...
