Greeting everyone.
Is there any effect if we fill up oil through the air vent?

Greeting everyone.
What happens if we use wrong class of plastic gauge. For example, the clearance given 0.175mm to 0.25mm, but we use different class of plastic gauge such as type c. Is the result from upper bearing housing compression will be different if use different plastic gauge?
Sorry...
Thank you guys.
Here I attached the guideline from flowserve. For overhung, we have the leverage to lift the shaft in order to get the radial value, but for BB type, I dont think it can. Thats why Im asking.
JJPelin, so for you, you do not consider this is a valid check? It doesnt matter if it...
Greeting everyone.
Before do any mechanical seal installation, there are steps that need to be followed. One of the step is to check radial movement of shaft or shaft deflection. How are we gonna do this check on between bearing pump type?? is this step only applicable for overhung pump only...
I thought so. Maybe if waiting material is too long or the pump need to run anyway, this method can be applied for emergency. Well, Mr.Gerhardl is right. The pump leaks again.
thanks
Greeting everyone.
I have some question regarding the title. Before this, 1 of our pumps leak through mech seal. The leakage was really bad. The pump is over hung type spray tower recirculation pump by flowserve. So, someone try cleaning the flushing line thoroughly. After cleaning and test run...
Greeting everyone..
Before this, I've only known thermal growth on pump side or turbine side. Until recently someone from sulzer, their field service representative (fsr) come and told my friend (the one that deals with him) that we need to put thermal growth factor of motor side into account...
Im confused cause most pumps when running below minimum flow, it will show abnomalities but this pump doesnt. This pump runs half from what it should be and already runs for 3 days.
JJpelin, it runs with main frac reflux..
Greeting everyone...
There is a case where our pump running below minimum flow, but all parameters are in good condition. The vibrations are good, the temp and so the discharge pressure. My question is, do we need to increase the flow to above minimum flow or is okay if all parameters are...
what will happen if we let steam turbine runs on idle speed too long? lets say the idle speed is 900rpm. Is there any abnormalities will occur on equipment? The steam Turbine is driving a compressor, centrifugal (over hung type)
so, if the belt is wider like 80mm and we use single belt tension gauge, we will get different value than the twin tension because of the contact point that acts on the belt width is not the same, right??
Is there any difference regarding the value of deflection force if use different type of belt tension gauge?? like single belt tension vs twin belt tension?https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=e9ba4143-957d-4872-9cb7-6e08eb701ea7&file=Capture.JPG
mk3223. If we see the trending from flow transmitter, we can see the fluctuation and sometimes, the flow drop below minimum flow but not significantly, just 20`30 m3/h. In this case, is the MRT not acceptable?
thanks shashankTurbomachine for the answer. It really helps me.
I have 2 questions regarding mechanical run test (MRT)
1.) What is rated flow? Cause in pump data sheet, there are minimum flow, preferred flow, and operational flow. So which one is used in MRT?
2.) Lets say we have the flow that we want and we run test. If the flow drop below minimum flow...
