    Heating from the sun.

From what i can tell, you already need the ''dT'' in order to get ''hc'' - how do you get around that?

    Heating from the sun.

Okay lets make it even easier, lets divide the aluminium plate into two separate parts. So we have one metal plate fully in the sun, while the other one in the shade. How do i calculate the difference between the one in the shade and then one in the sun?

    Heating from the sun.

Is there a simple method, for aproximate results?

    Heating from the sun.

Sory if i am asking ''stupid'' questions, but i am really not familiar with thermal physics. Okay lets set up a hypothethical scenario: Summer conditions: 30°C air temperature, 70% air humidity, solar radiation 900 W/m2 Lets use the polished Aluminium board (2000 x 200 x 4 mm, weight of 43,2...

    Heating from the sun.

Hello, Lets say i have half of a wooden/glass/metal board exposed to the sun and the other half is being covered by something and therefore is in the shade. How do i calculate how much will the part of the board, that is exposed to the sun, heat up from being exposed to the suns energy? I am...

    Bonding/Adhesion of 2 wooden beams.

@BAretired, can you really take into the account that the ''E'' of the glue is the same as of the wood? @Agent666, i think the point of ''zig-zag'' cut is to increase the area of glue on the same section. And thats what im trying to figure out, how much does the area and strenght of glue...

    Bonding/Adhesion of 2 wooden beams.

Even if the beam is glued in the middle?

    Bonding/Adhesion of 2 wooden beams.

Yeah like this, Okay i know its a bad design and all. I just want to know if it is possible to calculate the deflection of such beam - glued in the middle, for a normal glue. How would you add, the adhesion and area of the glue into the formula.

    Bonding/Adhesion of 2 wooden beams.

Yeah, sory i made a mistake, i meant uniformal load. Of course you wouldnt do that, but does anybody know how to calculate the deflection of such a joint?

    Bonding/Adhesion of 2 wooden beams.

Hello there, For a long time, there has been something in my mind, which i cant seem to figure out how to deal with it. By the way, this is totally a hypothetical question: How do you calculate stiffness/Strength of 2 wooden beams bonded in the middle, but they are joint longitudinal, kind...
