I have tried to increase the mass and inertia of the rigid body significantly (~600 times of the deformable object) but I am still getting the same results. My deformable parts are made from wire with a beam section, I am not sure if this matters although i think it shouldn't as I am selecting...
I have tried to refine the mesh of the deformable part and their seed size are 0.5 now. Should I also refine the mesh of the rigid part?

Yeah I have created general contact and put "Hard" contact as the normal behaviour. And yeah I applied initial velocity to the landing gear (deformable part).

This is my first time using Abaqus to conduct a dynamic analysis. I'm trying to simulate drop test of a helicopter skid landing gear but the skid is not colliding to the ground but penetrates into it. Does anyone know how to solve this issue?
