Hi STrctPono, thanks for your answer. Actually my structure is covered with a thick soil mass, circa 1.650 meters and it is not solid but deformable. Image to have a sphere and cover it with sand to achieve a kind of dome.
Sorry here is also the picture of the displacements https://files.engineering.com/getfile.aspx?folder=6c0b6742-99e5-4a2c-96a3-1262b7c63a11&file=Screenshot_2021-03-11_092432.png
Hi SWComposites, here are two pictures that can help. The structure is symmetric and the load is also symmetric and as you can see from the picture the load is higher in the center and decrease along the arches. In the center, there is a pressure. So if the load is symmetric and the structure is...
Hi everybody! I'm analyzing with Patran and Nastran a multi-arch structure where the arches are made of a sandwich material (so I used 3D elements for the core e 2D elements for the upper and lower faces). The problem that I have is related to the boundary condition because as you can see in the...
Hi everybody, I'm working on my thesis and the project is about a martian habitat. So for the moment, I'm trying to analyze a hemispherical structure that is represented in the figure. The problem is that I'm searching for a rapid way to describe the shielding regolith (or soil it depends on how...
Hi, SWComposites! Thanks for your answer. Honestly, I took a look at the manual but I didn't find anything useful, but probably I wasn't good in searching (I read Nastran 2018 Quick Reference Guide). Would you like to give me more details if you know more about this kind of problem?
Hi guys!
First of all, I'm new to this forum and this is my first thread, so if there are some mistakes in the way that I posted it tell me. Anyway, I'm working on finite element simulation with Patran and Nastran on a particular composite material, actually, we can say it's a sandwich. I'm...
