It is common to see heat numbers in the MTC(Material Test Certificates). However, sometimes we also come across lot numbers and batch numbers.
Can somebody help explain the difference between the 3 heat numbers ?

ISO 15156 Para 7.1.2 allows "The steels described or listed in A.2 are considered resistant to SSC ..." and A.2.1.3 mentions forgings ASTM A105 and wrought fittings ASTM A234 WPB and WPC to be acceptable steel grade without SSC testings so long as hardness are met.
