Hi Tugboat
In case of liquid ring, there is an eccentricity between the impeller amd casing but here the rotating blade is concentric. Also the delivery and inlet lines do not comply here with a luquid ring pump.
I havr gone through the website of glikes but could not found anything similar to...
Hi Altruists,
Here is photos vacuum creating part of a centrifugal pump.
I want to know the working principle of this vacuum generating part.
I searched in the internet.
But i dont know exactly what keyword should be used to search for this.
I looking for your support.
Hi Littleinch,
Sorry for my late response.
I post again in pump community because my misunderstanding of the statement "the pump forum might have been a bit better, but 3DDave has the essence of it".
It was a mistake from my side.
Thanks for your support.
It is agreed by all that it reduces the required power. I want to know the reason behind this. Why the required power is lower when the delivery valve is closed?
Hi all,
I want to know why it is common practice to keep the delivery/discharge valve closed during start up of a centrifugal pump?
I googled this and found different answers which made me confused.
So an explanation would be very helpful guys.
Thanks
Thank You all for your kind response.
Actually i am not going to do the turbine alignment by myself.
In our plant alignment is going on by russian engineers.
I am just trying to understand the method and procedures step by step theoretically.
What is connected to turbine; generator or...
The manufacturer provides the clearance value.
But i need to know the process of alignment in details i.e how to take the reading, what to do to solve misalignment in details.
Hi all,
I am working in a steam power plant.
We have 1 unit of 210MW.
The turbine comprised of HP,IP and LP.
I want to know the alignment process, steps and procedure in details during a major overhauling.
Can any body shed some light in this matter?
Hi Altruists,
I have attached a photo of a pump shaft with impeller.
I have come to know about centrifugal screw pump but here in our power plant i have seen a turbine drainage pump (it pumps condensate to a tank than to WTP again) which have both screw impeller and closed impeller.
Can anyone...
Thank You LittleInch.
Yes this is the line and orifice I am referring to.
Does this orifice plays a role in building up a back pressure in the back side of balancing disk??
Because i got this information from a book, "To ensure
proper balancing-disk operation, the change in back pressure must be...
Thank You JP for your kind response.
"To ensure
proper balancing-disk operation, the change in back pressure must be of
an appreciable magnitude. This is accomplished by introducing a
restricting orifice in the leakage return line."
This line is quoted from a book named "Marks' Standard Handbook...
Thanks JP.
In some discussions in the internet i have seen that this orifice is used for regulating the flow in the balancing line and consequently, pressure in the balance chamber i.e after the balance disk.
That is why i am confused and want to know if there is any pressure control or flow...
