Requesting Feedback on P&ID Design for a Cold Water Supply System with Duplicated Pumps

Hello everyone, I’m currently working on the commissioning of a cold water supply system for a production plant. The system includes duplicated pumps with a tank to ensure a continuous supply of cold water. I’ve been reviewing the P&ID and the overall design of the installation, and I’ve...

Can I use EX db eb II B T4 Gb motors in an API centrifugation room with solvents?

Hello everyone, I’m working on a project involving the centrifugation of APIs where solvents are used. The centrifugation room is equipped with a ventilation system that provides 10 air changes per hour. I have two motors that I plan to use for the centrifuge's hydraulic and cooling systems...

Funtion of outlet Temperature Transmiter on AHU in Clean Room system?

yes, but this TT is at the outlet, when all the process is end. The main reson is not for controll outlet temperature in the deshumidification process.

Funtion of outlet Temperature Transmiter on AHU in Clean Room system?

Hi all, I have the following AHU system. I undestand that I have a Feedback control to control the Clean Room and a Feedforward control to control any exterior disturbance. But there is a third TT at the outlet of AHU that I dont know what it used for... Any help / idea?

Doubt: Expansion tank, venting atm with control valve, (vent outlet underneath process) whyyy!!!??

Hello to all, I have a small question. I have a proces as show in the pic: We pressurise an expansion tank with Nitrogen to 300 mbarg. The vent outlet of the tank has a control valve at 400 mbarg because it is 1.5 m below the thermal oil process piping (1.5 m oil column is 0.100 mbarg). I...

Mass flow quality 2-phase calculation in ISO 4126-10 (2010) - Low amount of vapour rate through psv

Hi to all, but in special to PaoloPemi, Here is the example they show, is used to calculate the specific volume at the pressure and temperature of sizing conditions (the escenario is a runaway reaction): In the paper I attach in the figures 2, 3 and 4 is shown what you explain about the...

Mass flow quality 2-phase calculation in ISO 4126-10 (2010) - Low amount of vapour rate through psv

Here is the problem, If you define E0 this way, E0 corresponds to vapor phase (void fraction) so u cant multiply it by the Liquid... becouse you are saying that the liquid correspont to the void fraction.

Mass flow quality 2-phase calculation in ISO 4126-10 (2010) - Low amount of vapour rate through psv

Hi pierreick, I have to desing it for two phase, also we think that the ISO mass balance is not accurate

Mass flow quality 2-phase calculation in ISO 4126-10 (2010) - Low amount of vapour rate through psv

Hello to all, We are calculating PSV for two phase scenario and we have noticed that the mass quality fraction (x0) is too low, about 0.0006, that mean that from 100 kg/h 99.9994 kg/h are liquid and only 0.0006 kg/h are vapor. On Fundamental Equations for Two-Phase Flow in Tubes - Masahiro...

Query: Why do I have to take into account only the worst case and not the sum of all pressure drop?

I felt very silly for not understanding it, but that's it! thank you all very much,

Query: Why do I have to take into account only the worst case and not the sum of all pressure drop?

Okay 1503-44, Now i know the pressure drop in each branch, correct, to select the fan or pump height, I have to choose the worst case or 1-B-3 plus 2-B? thats my query

Query: Why do I have to take into account only the worst case and not the sum of all pressure drop?

For example, I must install a fan with a dust filter (point 3) in this branched pipe system. The pressure drop from point 1 to 3 is bigger than the point 2 to 3. Both are open to the atmosphere. For calculate the mmWG I have to reach I will sum the pressure drop from 1 to 3, the pressure...

Two phase PSV sizing - (vaporization before discharge point)

hello to all, I fount the ISO 4126 part 10 that explain very well all the cases. I put here the link! https://qdoc.tips/bs-iso-4126-safety-valves-specs-part-10-pdf-free.html Thanks to all!

Two phase PSV sizing - (vaporization before discharge point)

Dear all, We know the HEM method to sizing the valve but we have no idea how to size a valve that arrive fluid in two phase... for example, there is a fire and the reactor jacket is heating... so the fluid is vaporizing and arrive in two phase to the PSV... I want to ask if there is any...
