    Air-spring modelling

Thanks NRP99! I ll have to write that down on my list as another potential technique to learn!

    Air-spring modelling

Hi FEA way, In case i want to see the stress propagating on the cords of the fabric layer though, do you think that I should use the skin option? or the composite shell? I am so confused on what to do in the best way possible! Obviously it would help to have some experience more in order to...

    Air-spring modelling

I am thinking if maybe an axisymmetric model would be easier and better

    Air-spring modelling

@NRP99, nothing to worry about, after all the model might can t work at all. @FEA Way, maybe it could help to first say what I want to model and then get some suggestions on how to do it from you guys? I need to model an airspring which will need: 3 Parts (Baseplate/ Sleeve/ Piston) -...

    Air-spring modelling

Hi guys, thanks for your answers. The problem lays on how I model it. I could not fix that as there were other parameters that i should add/change to do so. Is it ok to have a first "consultation" on the model...

    Air-spring modelling

Hi all, I have been redirected here as it is a more Abaqus forum. I have designed a model - draft mode in the best of my abilities - I am in a beginner level. Is there any chance someone can help me to fix some issues? I have the model so I can provide if someone is willing to support me...

Air Spring model - 3d shell edges mixture failure- Help ??

Thank you both for your answers, I will try to play around with the model a bit more, but the way I see it, since I lack of the experience to do changes, I ll probably end up with deleting more of the things and redo them.

Air Spring model - 3d shell edges mixture failure- Help ??

Should I instead create surface sets and assign them without manually choosing them? Also, due to the design of the sleeve, there are some fillets that might create these edges. Can I avoid that? Should I partion them? thanks in advanceeee!

Air Spring model - 3d shell edges mixture failure- Help ??

Hi both, I have found the internal surface that refers to _pickedsurf67, but i have not created this one from the surface menu. I use it for the fluid cavity Or for a constraint as correctly mentioned. A fluid cavity needs surfaces as interaction, so i don t know how i can avoid it. If anyone...

Air Spring model - 3d shell edges mixture failure- Help ??

Hi Guys, I have prepared a model, in the best of my level's abilities for an airspring. I have the .cae file to share for some assistance feedback. I get the below message: "Surfaces below have a mixture of 3D shell edges and other types. If a surface has any 3D shell edges then all of its...

    Airspring design in Abaqus

Hi there! Thanks a lot for the reply. I have came across with that before, however the level of accuracy is not ideal in this case. In my case I need to assign properties to the nylon cords as well and also create a net pretty much of the helix embedded cords. It is a start I know, but there are...

    Airspring design in Abaqus

Hi team, I am a quite fresh member here and also I have just started with Abaqus. The project I am currently working on is designing and validating a model for an airspring for a passenger car. The structure is similar to tires (4 layers; i) rubber - ii) fabric reinforcement with nylon cords...
