They are already tried, but could not produce the same result as axis symmetry.
I think their uses are slightly different.
Axis symmetry should generate a design that every cross-section of the circular hoop above is the same.
ABAQUS provides geometric restrictions such as a planer, rotational, and other symmetric,
but there is no axis symmetric restriction.
