ASME BPVC UCS-66/API 579-1 Fitness for Service Part 3 - Brittle Fracture of Existing Valves

I posted this question in the piping forum but unfortunately received conflicting responses. Given that API-579-1 Fitness for Service applies to pressure vessels, I am posting this question in the pressure vessel forum as well. I am preparing an API 579-1 (Fitness for Service) Part 3...

API 579-1 Fitness for Service Part 3 - Brittle Fracture of Existing Valves and Carbon Steel Gaskets

Is there any mention of valve governing thickness in API-579-1 or UCS-66 (BPVC)? I cannot find any mention of valve governing thickness in these references.

API 579-1 Fitness for Service Part 3 - Brittle Fracture of Existing Valves and Carbon Steel Gaskets

I am new to eng-tips and did not realize double posting was against the rules. My question applied to both forums (Piping and BPVC) so I posted it in both forums. Thanks for letting me know.

API 579-1 Fitness for Service Part 3 - Brittle Fracture of Existing Valves and Carbon Steel Gaskets

I am preparing an API 579-1 (Fitness for Service) Part 3 (Assessment of Existing Equipment for Brittle Fracture) Level 2 analysis of an existing carbon steel piping system to determine if the piping system can operate safely during an auto refrigeration condition. The procedure does not address...

A105 Pressure Temperature Rating - ASME B16.5 and ASME BPVC VIII Div 1

Thank you @akpipelineenr. Great response. Somewhat related to my original post, do you know why A106 Grade B piping was not moved to Curve A of UCS-66? I read that carbon steel piping was also experiencing brittle fracture phenomena in addition to A105 flanges.

A105 Pressure Temperature Rating - ASME B16.5 and ASME BPVC VIII Div 1

The 2019 BPVC VIII Div 1 changed the classification of as-forged A105 flanges from Curve B UCS-66 to Curve A UCS-66 to address brittle fracture possibility. ASME B16.5 still rates an A105 flange to -20F. Why has B16.5 not followed BPVC UCS-66?
