Hello everyone,
I’m reviewing deflection criteria for a long-span steel beam designed to Eurocode standards, and I’m seeking some clarification. I’m currently limiting deflections as follows:
Imposed load deflection: span/360
Total load deflection: span/250
My question is:
For dead load...
Hi All,
I am Currently working on a car park with a composite steel frame with metal decking. The project has very tight headroom restrictions and therefore a tight structural zone allowance. The job is due to start on site very soon and it has just become aware that deflections & tolerances...
GeoregeTheCivilEngineer - Thank again!
I am actually Specing an SMD Deck! I see these fixings everyday at the gym i go to which has an exposed celling with the MEP visible and have never noticed them.
I'll look for a restraint tie with the combination of a wedge nut fixing thanks again!
GeorgeTheCivilEngineer, Thanks for that, so id rather not have to drill through the concrete.
When you say clamp into the profile of the deck are you referring to providing the fixing through the decking before the concrete has been poured? Or is there come detail/way to clamp to the underside...
Hi All,
I'm looking to detail a Masonry head restraint for a blockwork wall to the underside of a metal deck. I want to provide a soft joint to not transfer any vertical loads but to restrain it laterally.
I have previously used Ancon IHR-V ties when it's to the underside of a steel beam that...
