    dik Thanks, yeah the dimensional stability of the log wall tends to change as the moisture content reduces, but I just hope that the connection of the log wall above each opening will help in transferring the loads and keep the members in stability over the service life of the building.

    atrizzy Thanks for your response, I have checked the wood design manual, volume 1, but could not find anything related to the log wall. And I was hoping to apply the "logic" of CLT walls but it is not working.

    I am working on a log home, and I am a bit stuck on determining the bearing capacity of the log wall, I am proposing a Northern pine of 6x6 inches log. The log wall is taking the roof load and also the floor joist. I cannot get any references or material to clear my doubts about how to proceed...
