We are evaluating Laser Trackers for use in aircraft parts Jig alignment etc.
Some models come with interferometer included which we understand increases accuracy, with associated significant price increases.
Does anubody have any useful feedback on using Laser Trackers & in particular whether...
We operated NX 3D CAD software (previously known as Unigraphics), and have ben asked if we can read Catia V5models.
My question is do Catia files contain the drg file also (like NX does) or is the drg a separate file. The files we have are Catia part files and there is some suggestion that...
Can anybody give advice on how configuration control can be exercised for PCB designs. We are working with an organisation who have developed a potential piece of avionics hardware, which has many PCB's.
Our concern is how to define the configuration of a PCB i.e. by P No and dash No or by...

Can aybody throw any light on the issue of special seat fireblocking materials being required for use with leather dress covers ?

We have a helicopter perspex panel which has a fibreglass edging thru which it is fastened to the airframe.
The fibreglass has delaminated and needs repair.
The fibrelass edging avoids the need for fastener holes in the perspex. The perspex is sandwiched between 2 layers of fibrelass, and the...
hi
Does anybody know of any specs or standards, or design codes for engine test stands, such as might be used in test cells. Engine is a large turboprop.
I am mainly interested in load cases.
Thank you
Graham Murphy
if you apply the airload only you will be subjecting the wing to higher loads than it experiences in flight. this is because of "Inertia releif' from wing weight which opposes the airload. ie If u are applying 6G of airload u should subtract 6* the wing weight. This is a complex issue as...
Thanks SuperStress.
I have a copy of the Bruhn "supplement" and it is a very good addition to the basic text.
FYI I finally purchased a copy of the report from NTIS, their No is AD831711.
The report is somewhat dated as it is written pre PC's but there is some interesting data on...
Can anybody tell me where I can purchase a copy of Report No AFFDL-TR-67-184 "Analyitical Design Methods for Aircraft Structural Joints."
Thank you
