I have tried to look for any information on resizing the reference triad, I have not found any.All whats there is turning it on and off.

The triad shows X, Y and Z directions clearly in isometric, dimetric and trimetric views. May be you need to elaborate exactly what you are after. I presume you want to include a screen shot in your report. Give us more light of your intentions.
