    CBUSH coincident nodes in hypermesh?

Hi, I am using Hypermesh. I am defining an ASET nodes for a model reduction, however, the nodes I am using are dependent nodes for an RBE3 element, so they cannot be used as my ASET. I have defined coincident nodes at the same points as the nodes I want to define as my ASET and I want to use...

Equivalent beam model of a thin cylindrical shell

The objective is to comapre the response of the full and reduced models essentially just a large model reduction exercise. Im looking at relatively low frequencies <50 Hz. I think a beam model will have to be the next step, i have tried to get the reduced model to work with no luck...

Equivalent beam model of a thin cylindrical shell

radius is around 3m, length is 70m, thickness around 3mm. So its a very long thin shell model.

Equivalent beam model of a thin cylindrical shell

I could do that and i will try that tomorrow, however, the approach i want to take is to reduce the shell model i have, moreso because the stiffness of the full model is well represented in a model with only beam modes. Im not sure making a 2D beam element model with provide that accuracy.

Equivalent beam model of a thin cylindrical shell

Hi, I want to reduce a thin cylidrical shell model to a points along the centreline such that an equivalent beam model is formed with only bending modes. I am working in ABAQUS. I have made a shell model, it has a non-circular cross section, uniform along length: This model is partitioned...

How to excite a beam through a spring?

Thankyou for responding! I'm looking at the acceleration response of the free-free beam, the displacement response does just grow with time. I dont want to fix anything in place, i want to model how the inclusion of a spring where the force is placed may change this acceleration response, if...

How to excite a beam through a spring?

Hi, I have modelled the transient response of a free-free (unconstrained) beam in ABAQUS, however, I now want to model the transient response when the force is placed on a spring. I have attached a rough sketch of the problem. I have applied a two point spring to the beam model using a node...
