About the test temperature for CTOD test in warm water.

Thank you Carburize! The Fabricator have a CTOD test in the previous project(same material, same steel mill, same WPS) at 15 degree. So they want to reuse the test result. I think it is not meet the DNV code requirement.

About the drafting software for offshore industry

I'm trying ro find a 3D software that can be used to dafting the detailed design structural drawings(2-d drawing inclu. plan, Elev., and joint detail), also the software should can be used for shop design for structure. I have find some software like XSTEEL, STRUCAD,BOCAD and SDS/2, but these...

About the test temperature for CTOD test in warm water.

We know that CTOD test can be used to waive the PWHT. For offshore platform in high latitude, we normally use DNV requirement to determine the CTOD test temperature:For members above water should be the lowest air temperature, For members below water should be zero(freeze point of water). This...

Effective width of H-beam plus deck plating?

One of my H beam is not strong enouth, so I try to consider the plating(on top of h-beam). Normally we can get the Effective width according the AISC B section(such as T beam or angle). But for H beam, the flange and the plating is a composite section, so the T should be the thichness of flange...
