    Typical seal life

    We are using mechanical seal in water around 200F and pressure 1500 psi.Stationary face:Barium Bronze B4, Rotating face:Tungstun Carbide. Is this combination good. We have experienced abnormal wearing of Bronze part in very short time. Does anybody has similar experience with these material ?

    Loss torque on gasketted joint.

    But why u check torque again in 24 Hr. again and again. Leave it if it is not leaking and it will hold after some reduction in initial torque. Initially torque it once 10%above then required seating stress of the gasket.

    Closing torque for a butter fly valve

    If normal operating torque for a butterfly valve handling sea water is x, what value will be safe for torque switch in opening and closing. Valve is located at the discharge of turbine type vertical pump with shutoff pressure less than 30 psi.
