Convert pdf to image (jpg, png etc.)
Add new sheet to Draftsight file.
Go to Insert on the menu - Reference image.
You can insert bmp, gif, jpg, jpeg, png, tif, tiff.
Zoom in for clarity.
If you are printing a colored print in black and white:
Look in the Print dialog box at the bottom - Additional Options - Print Style Table.
Mine is set to monochrome.ctb and prints in black and white. All lines print the same.

You can change the outside edge color and the terminations of the styles. Just be sure to Activate your new style.

Is it there when you switch between Classic and Ribbon views? Have you right clicked next to the Help on the menu & checked Properties? There are a number of ACAD solutions, but I don't know if any of them will work for Draftsight.
Maybe you're using Snap instead of ESnap. Check the bottom of your screen. I think Snap points go to grid whether visible or not. Esnaps go to endpts, quads, etc..

This happened to me also. It has to do with the setting that you have for Font size in Windows. I had mine customized at 113% and SW doesn't like customize fonts. I'm on 2016 so I can't show you what needs to be changed, but I think it was on the Customize, Toolbars and pick one of the sizes...
Go to Tools - Options - System Options - Display - Element Colors - Model Crosshairs & Sheet Crosshairs to set the colors.
