Hi, refer to the API 1104 - Clause 6 Qualification of Welders.
1. If a welder passed 5G qualification, what is the tolerance (degree) for the horizontal production welding?
2. What is 6G (tolerance of degree) during the production welding?
I noticed that no further details in the API1104...
Refer to the pipeline design ASME B31.4 and welding in accordance with API 1104.
1. There is any clause mentioned the limitation of the golden joints (final tie-ins without hydrotest)i.e. quantity of the golden joints are permitted?
2. It's possible to put a extra pipe (e.g. 2m pup-piece)...
Dear Sir, 2 nos. of 100mm X 100mm plates have been welded to the bottom plate (after rhe hydrotest) and steel rods from the anode bed will be attached (welded) to the plate. Prior to the installation of the steel rods, vacuum test of the 100mm X 100mm plate shall be carried-out.
Dear All, just want to know, to weld between fitting and fitting with the same thickness, did we required to weld for the whole thickness or just half of the thickness. This is for ASME B31.3.
The actual configuration as below:-
pipe (25mm thk.) - tee (50mm) - tee (50mm) - flange (40mm)
pipe to...

Hi,
A welder already qualified with API 1104 (pipeline welding), did the welder shall perform WQT for ASME IX (station piping) in the same project, if all the essential veriables are the same?
If I want to ask the welder to perform new WQT according to ASME IX, what clause should i say?
Welding using API 1104.
For the selection of wire for welding of X-70 pipe, could we use E6010 for root & E71T8-K6 or E 71T8-Ni1 for fill & capping?
According to data sheet provided by manufacture of the wire, the wire tensile and yield strength is lower than steel grade X-70.
1. If WPS for X-70 11.71mm has been qualified and WPS for X-65 18.91mm also has been qualified. Did need another WPS to be qualified to tie-in between the X-70 and the X-65 pipe? or we can use the qualified PQR for X-70 pipe?
2. If WPS for X-65 12.61mm has been qualified and WPS for X-65...
