    Self Supercharging engine

No, because its a four stroke that uses crankcase pressure to force the inlet, hence the comment of two displacements per power stroke. Above the piston everything is as a four stroke, with the overhead cam drive also turning the rotary valve for the crankcase, no transfer ports, and non of the...

    Self Supercharging engine

Haven't been on here for a bit. I have been involved with a project that uses crankcase pressure as a source of forced induction. The mixture is pulled into the crankcase as the piston rises and expelled as the piston drops, airflow is controlled by a rotary valve running at crank speed, so you...

    Making a small fortune from a 2 stroke V8

Is that a dustbin lid? Not a nice car to follow apparently, as it sucked all the debris off the track and threw it out the back.

    Waste Heat Power Recovery?

Nobody's mention the good old Sterling engine yet. I thing Greg has hit the nail on the head " how much plant are you prepared to install in a car to retrieve 22 hp, and what would you do with it?" As to gbent's comments "GE makes a combined cycle power plant they claim 60%...

Mumford links & Mallock TAM info.

Its's more of an interest thing than practical use, my car has four equal length trailing arms and a Panhard. I've seen the question on other forums and would like to know...

Mumford links & Mallock TAM info.

More interested in the Mumford link as this has the effect of lowering the roll centre of the back axle.

Mumford links & Mallock TAM info.

Looking for any sites, books ect that will inform me of both Mumford type axle location and Mallock "trailing arm magic" theory.

    Chinese Rods

I've used the odd packet now and then. They welded fine but tended to have a rather strange smell! Having said that the welds I did with these rods were visual inspection only, we did not test the welds.
