Does zinc galvanizing contain other heavy metals?

After all the info already given I thought I may add something to the original question. Typically the type of container you are talking about would be made from cold rolled steel coil that has been hot dipped in a continous hot dip galv line. The type of product you are talking about would...

Sounds like quenched high carbon steel without any temper after heat treatment. Maybe?

    What causes Galling???

Galling is basically the bonding of the one surface to another. This normally occurs when the surfaces are under load together. When the surfaces move, pieces of the surface break away at some other position other than the original surface. To summarise galling occurs. If you need more info...

    "GAUGE OF METAL THICKNESS"

Yous are probably refering to sheet or wire gauge numbers. I believe the term originated by saying how many thicknesses of say a particualr sheet would go into one inch. Thus higher gauge number mean thinner material. The same is true for sieve size and also sandpaper particle sizes. Anthony

    Young's Modulus

Dear Mengchuan As a very general rule the youngs modulus is reasonably constant for groups of materials. For the purposes of most engineering work if you are dealing with any steel, stainless steel or cast iron you can use a value of 200GPa or 30,000,000psi this value varies with alloying...

Salt spray analysis in the sheet metal industry.

Salt spray basically indicates under very limited conditions the corrosion resistance of the pretreatment. In practical terms corrosion resistance should be ranked zinc phosphate (best) then iron phosphate and the chrome pretreatment (least). I practice any of these depend on how clean the...
