I am working on a soil disinfection system that injects steam into the soil. The steam is vacuumed using pipes to force it all the way through the soil.
As you would expect the soil particles block the pipe within minutes. I am looking for a filter that can stop this happening
Any suggestion...

Hello everyone,
We are trying to develop a soil Disinfestation system using steam injection under pressure. I would like to model the system to specify the boundary conditions of efficient operation for different soil materials at which the maximum heat transfer will take place without...
Hello everyone,
I am trying to find a suitable CFD package to simulate the heat transfer when injecting superheated steam into a soil bed. Any help would be welcome!!!
Thanks a lot

Hello everybody,
I have spent sometime looking at the coriolis flowmeters and although at first I thought that would be it now I have another problem. The gel particles in the flow have nearly the same density than the water, therefore if coriolis meter is going to provide total mass flow rate...
Thank you DesignerMike for your answer too,
Magmeters could be used since they provide mass flow rate which is what I need. The problem is that the pellets are of the same (or very close) density than the water and therefore i would know the total mass flow rate. With that information I...
Phex, thank you for your input too. I have worked with optical systems in the past for velocity measurements but I cannot figure out how they would work in this case to identify the mass of gel bearing in mind that the particles are of different size and the concentration is unknown and...
Thank you sreid for your answer. I thought about clear pipe vision but I could not see how would it work for all the requirements. I understand the velocity measurement but to count the pellets and identify the size how would the vision system be applied bearing in mind that not all the pellets...
Thank you hacksaw and quark for your answers. The flow is not an homogeneous mixture and i don't know the concentration therefore the change in the tank volume would tell me the flow rate but not the mass of gel. I am now looking at the coriolis meters but any other ideas would be great. Thanks...
I am feeding an open space (through a pipe) with a water flow containing gel particles (sizes varying from 3 to 50 mm). I need to measure the mass of gel that I am feeding the tank in an hour. Any idea of how can I achieve this?
I am looking for sensors that will look inside a pipe. The flow is water with gel pellets and i need to know the size and number of the pellets and the flow velocity. Anyone could give me ideas of the kind of sensors that could be used?. The size of the pipe will be 7 cm and the pellets could...
