Do not know for the 18T but should be able to pick up the diagnostic (an X input) from the wiring diagram.
If you have the encoder shaft disconnected you should be able to spin the encoder and watch the X diagnostics pages, and see which one is changing.

Thanks for your posts, it appears that the finishing allowance in the X axis is a TYPO in the Fanuc Manual. There should be NO finishing allowance in X for G70. The Z axis problem is still unclear, Fanuc are still puzzled by this.
Omron have a free software package, for programming cpm series PLCs. You can build a PLC ladder on your computer and the help function explains each operand quite clearly.
If you do not understand something, build it and it becomes obvious as to how each function operates.
