Please how do you easily select hidden faces to define Assembly mates?

This is driving me nuts! This should be quite simple??? I need to set assembly relationships between faces that are concealed. How do I do this? PS: Is there an equivalent in SolidWorks to the little SolidEdge menu that displays all selectable entities under the cursor for easy selection - This...

Tangential Relationship snaps How do they work in SW?

ctopher thanks you are right. I was doing a tutorial and it does work if you pull a line to the circle.

Tangential Relationship snaps How do they work in SW?

I am pulling a circle close to a hidden line but even with "Tangential Snaps" turned on, I am not getting the tangential relationship to snap intuitively. I know I can select both entities and set the relationship, but shouldn't this be automatic (=faster) with "Tangential Snaps" checked? I...

Selecting Hidden Lines in a Sketch

Thanks, but I have found the problem: There are settings under options --> display/viewing "Allow selection in wireframe and HLV modes" "Allow selection in HLR and shaded modes" These need to be checked to enable the selection of hidden edges.

    SolidEdge Surfacing Newbie: Please Help

Please can anyone help? I am designing the arm of a chair using SE V18. The part is complex and calls for sweeping cross sections using guide curves. Because the blueSurf command gave me the best results, half of the part has been modelled using the bluesurf command with CLOSED END CAPS -...

How on earth do you do this in Solid Edge?

Wow That easy! I have to admit I have never used the 'Up-to-Next' under protrusion. I don't even recall seeing it. Thanks, I will check it out tonight. It makes sense since each point from the projection plane will extend only as far as the next surface - DUH. You made me feel like an idiot...

How on earth do you do this in Solid Edge?

Please help! I need to span a solid wall across a feature with curved sides. Notice the odd shape of the wall in the link below. A normal protrusion would not conform to the curved sides. I tried using the rib feature, but two problems. It only allows me to extend in one direction and a closed...
