    Welding after hydrotest

    Would it be permissible to weld non pressure parts to the interior of a vessel after hydro testing when not subject to PWHT? I know that UG- 99 a.1 indicates that all fabrication should be complete before hydrotesting, but does this not apply only to pressure envelope? Thanks for any information

    Painting of pressure vessels before hydrotest

    ASME VIII UG 99 (k)indicates that vessels may be painted prior to pressure test. We want to do this to save time. However same paragraph indicates that paint may mask leaks.
