You're fine. Check 300-3, 310-4, and 318-8. Basically, your dealing with parallel circuits, or circuits of different systems specifically. I am not aware of any verbage that prohibits it in the NEC. But some localities [ie: New York City] have there own wacky rules, so check with the code...
