    Coupling capacitance and leakage currents

I have a 33 kM, three phase balanced overhead distribution line of 72 kV L-L with several substations attached. The overhead lines average 7 meters above ground and the 30 substation transformers attached are between 7MVA and 30MVA. Given that there exists capacitive reactance between the...

    electricty

May I have a try at this: "Is this a true statement": Electric current is a flow of energy. Is energy and electricity the same thing? Current (Amps) in electricity, is like gallons (or litres) in water. It is a quantity. For the quantity to become power it must have some sort of...

    Power Transformer Capacitance?

I wish to thank all that have responded. You have pointed me in the correct direction.

    Power Transformer Capacitance?

To bobziva On high impedance grounding systems (and ungrounded systems) the capacitance of the transmission and sub-transmission lines as well as that of lightning arresters and transformers (of all types) the reference pathway is through capacitive coupling. It's this path that is of concern to me.

    Power Transformer Capacitance?

Can anybody tell me what to expect for values of coupling capacitance between the windings and between the windings and core of power transformers. I'm particularly interested in 3 ph transformers rated at between 7 MVA and 100 MVA, with primary voltage of 72 kV L-L. Any help will be greatly...
