Dear friends,
Why for A356 cast alloy, to T8 temper treating, after solution treatment and before artificial aging, it is hold for 24 hours in room temp. to be aged naturally? I found it is for stabilizing the material, but I need to know what
"stabilizing" means? Thanks all in adv.
I have heard the risers should be placed on the sprue side of the mold cavity. Is this matter related to appropriate temperature gradient creation? Thanks to all.
I used Sr-treating for modification of A356 Al alloy .
But after tensil test, I got abnormally low ductilities
%Elongation) I blame the Strontium quality. Could you please let me know your opinions at this regard? as well, your comments about storing standard reference for strontium and some...
I need some description about influence of Sr addition to Al-Si alloys (Hyper, Eutectic,Hypo) on volume fraction of alpha phase. Why there is alpha phase in hypereutectic alloy microstructure? please give me some quantify idea about alpha volume fraction in these alloys. Thanks a lot.
According to fig.11.25 of Metals Handbook,vol2 9th ed., 18 minutes in 204 C can lead to Min. Y.P. and Min. Ductility equal to 345 MPa and 13%,respectively. I don't believe that and I think this results may be affected by many other parameters. What's your opinions?
How can one recognize existing condition between following conditions:
* as-cast aluminum billet
* as-extruded aluminum billet
* as-forged aluminum billet
Please describe about apparent signs.
Dear TVP,
COULD YOU PLEASE,GIVE ME SOME INFORMATION,REGARDING TO AS-FORGED & AS-EXTRUDED PROPERTIES OF 6082 WROUGHT AL ALLOYS,AS WELL AS ABOUT ITS MICROSTRUCTURE ?THANKS IN ADV.
