the reason I ask this is because we've got a machine suffering of problems. It could be this is caused by the differences in module as described. Problems are:

I checked the addendum modification coefficient with some (incomplete) data I have and looks like something like 0.63 for gear 1 and 0.185 for gear 2 is not bad.
But why must 1* addendum of gear 1 plus twice addendum of gear 2 equal 1.0...

The side plates (frame components) of our machine are a few square meters (app. 2.5 mtrs high and 2 mtrs wide, and app 100 mm thick). Sliding surfaces are on cut-outs of these frame components (not the face side, but the 100mm wide side).
