    MAP for hot food?

Ehzin, I am not too concern with the amount of degrees per say; it is hot or it is not. I never had a complaint or a comment regarding temperature. The temperature is steady high for the first 45 minutes and after that it's going down kind of fast. But it is still hot enough after two hours. I...

    MAP for hot food?

Thanks 3DDave. MAP is Modified Atmosphere Packaging. It's mostly used on cold food/meat mostly to maintain a fresh appearance and extend shelf life. The air is removed and replaced with a gas, nitrogen or carbon dioxide.

    MAP for hot food?

Ehzin - Unfortunately there are no such product on the market and that’s why I have to make my own. IRstuff – Read please. When Mom bolted out of the kitchen in the early nineties and had to go get a job, her cooking was not replaced and since then obesity has taken over. As a professional...

    MAP for hot food?

I am looking for a system that would allow hot food to be transported right on a dining table at home. I have the ideal size dish that when preheated does a very good job at maintaining food temperature for two hours. In the chamber, I need to reduce condensation, maintain fresh food appearance...

I am interested in TEEK as an insulation material for a reusable food carrier.

Polyimide-Foam/Aerogel Composites for Thermal Insulation I am interested in TEEK as an insulation material for a reusable food carrier. We are prototyping using Urethane blow molding. Heat retention is satisfactory but could be improved. Weight is definitely a problem. The cost is way too...

    Radiation Barrier Question

dvd, the stainless steel pan is of the commercial type. The size would be way too big for two entrees, and would not fit on a dining table without embarrassment. It would not be practical for the operator or the consumer. I need something that has class, I am going to upper-income households...

    Radiation Barrier Question

dvd, Time does not permit that, but it's a good idea for down the road. I have signed a lease on a kitchen thinking it would be easy to come up with a carrier. Because we are dealing with food and heat, it's not that easy. I want the carrier to be a one hand held, so that it will be practical to...

    Radiation Barrier Question

To: DVD, you are right. I should have said Thermal Barrier instead. Do different density material slows the heat escaping?

    Radiation Barrier Question

This is how it works: I preheat a casserole dish to 300 degrees and place the freshly prepared hot food in it, then insert the dish in the chamber and quickly close the door. I want the food to be still over 150 degrees after two hours. I must have the carrier approved NSF to be commercialized...

    Food Grade Urethane.

I just found that there is a food grade urethane (PU4 An acrylated poly-ester-urethane consisting of polyadipate (neopentylglycol/adipic acid) as polyol reacted with 4-4' methylenedicyclohexyl diisocyanate.) I now plan on making the chamber of a food carrier with this material. My question: Can...

    Radiation Barrier Question

I am building a carrier design to keep food hot. I have a chamber made with food grade urethane FDA approved, wall thickness ¼”. Around and on the outside I want to wrap a material that would serve as “radiation barrier”. Any suggestion as the most effective and low cost material to use? I have...
