    metengr, As I know the size of allowable flaw is propotional K/(yeild)^2 and I think this might be problem in QA/QC besides the required energy for impact testing for LCC is slighly more than LCB in -29 C (20 instead 18). What do you think?

    hat123 I don't know you want to drill this hole in live container or not. If you want to attach 2" nozzle to 12" container you should refer to code but if you want to drill 2" hole in 12" live container that has another story!

    Mill test pressure

    As per ASME Code you should test your piping or equipment system after fabrication with test pressure which is stipulated in Code. This is regardless of mill pressure test in mill shop. So we can not consider the mill pressure test instead of field pressure test which is requirement of Code.

    As per ASME B31.4 the minimum Test Pressure is 1.25 x internal design pressure subject that in your pipeline stress induced shall not exceed 90% of SMYS.     We start to basic engineering of one gas refinery plant. From BH report it is cleared that our site land is from Marl Stones. Does any body knows which activity shall be considered regarding to this type of soil? Is there any precaution shall be taken?
