I know that gold will cause lead-tin solder joints to become brittle
over time, NASA tells me so. They have specific procedures to

Ensign Bickford has/had a product called primadets which are a delay cap on a flash tube that would be initiated in the same manner as detcord. They are/were very safe and reliable.
