    British Fastener Cross Reference

Nothing on cross-referencing but both rivets are made from L86 (2117-T4) material. The SP71 being a solid 100-degree countersink and the SP80 being a solid Protruding head. They are intended to replace rivets made from L37 (2014 T4) removing the need to store in the fridge before installation.

    Fatigue failure of BS 970 : 817M40T

Don't know if you have seen this thread on eng-tips forum 'Metal and Mettallurgy Egineering', dated July 2003, I found it by typing 'ESDU' and 'BS970' on Google. He's basically asking the same question as you and a number of reference sources are given in responce. If AISI 4340 is nearly...

Copy and Paste - Excel to Word

Just read that there is a restriction maximum limit for the amount of information an Excel object can display. Copy and Paste - Excel to Word

Thanks for the replies. The problem I have with using the simple cut and paste (Ctrl C and V) is that it simply reproduces the Excel cells in Word table format. When the table is to big to fit in side the page borders you have to scale it down by adjusting the individual row and column...

Copy and Paste - Excel to Word

I've had this problem before and I don't think I solved it then. I'm trying to copy a table from Excel to a Word document using paste special. If I choose to paste either as a 'picture' or as an 'object' the final few rows don't appear. If I insert an additional row into the middle of the table...

    CTRIA3 Elements

Thanks for the replies, If I understood you correctly, I’ve just tried reducing the E value in the material card to practically zero and I get the same results as with the panels not being there, altering the G value made no difference at all. Basically, it seems to have just one mode of...

    CTRIA3 Elements

I’m trying to de-idealise results from a very large existing aircraft FE Model. The model contains a number of TRIA3 elements in the fuselage side skins and I can’t quite workout how these elements are working. If you de-idealise them using the grid point forces as you would a QUAD4 it would...
