Thanks for your response. I think you ment "a post bake after GRINDING to relieve residual stresses", did you?
So no bake after grinding is required.

We are hard chrome plating a 17-4PH tube (OD.75"xLength 44")and I'm concerned about hydrogen embrittlement since we had problems with an assy before. We are now baking before and after plating.

I am in need of 17-4PH per AMS 5643 or 17-7PH per AMS 5568 tubing. They should be approx. 44 inch in length, .749 OD and .590 ID.
Do you know any manufacturer that can help me with this? The vendor we have gives us a lead time of 20 weeks and management is having a heart attack.
