Anyone have suggestions on elastomers to use in place of bonded seals (elastomers such as Viton, Nitrile bonded to SS). I am looking for alternatives to reduce the cost substantially. The bonded seals I am using make up a huge chunk of the overall cost.

This part has a number of features and the STUB ACME threads are just one of them. We are trying to reduce the overall mfg cost by considering casting options.The part will have to be finished anyway because it has some sealing surfaces.

Is it possible in Cosmos to apply a load / pressure over a part of the face. Lets say I have a 2 x 2 face on a square plate and I want to apply 1000 lb force over an area of 2 x 1 and not on the entire surface.
