I've already tried a magnet. It is not magnetic, but neither are any of the other SS parts on the machine. I guess I'll have to get a technician in to do some testing as we don't have any analysis equipment for this job.
Thanks for the help
Is there any way to tell the difference from stainless steel and hastelloy C once you have a part installed?
I ordered some filling lances for a bleach product, that was supposed to be hastelloy C, but I am finding black speck on the lance, similar to what we found when using the stainless...
I work at a chemical plant and I'm trying (with little success so far!) to provide an overview of the quality of our current ventilation system. I have determined that we're getting around 1.5 air changes per hour over all. Now of course we have some exhaust in localized areas in addition to...
Nope, they're not all stainless. At least they're not if you go to a REAL engineering school:) And yes, all graduates of a canadian engineering school are welcome to be "ringed", but some chose not too if they are not planning to practice engineering, or for other reasons.
The majority of the...
All engineers from Canada receive an iron ring when they graduate, to wear on their pinky finger. I recently received mine for a degree in mechanical engineering (hence I'm not so hot with my materials!), but I am curious as to its effect on a gold ring. Many chose to get a stainless steel ring...
The volume of the tank would be between 3000 and 5000 gallons, probably closer to 5000. The highest temperature of material being tansfered to the tank would be about 140F. As well the room is not well insulated and the air temperature could drop below freezing in the winter (not sure if that's...
My company is looking to get a new holding tank to contain both highly caustic bulk (pH > 13) as well as chlorinated products. So now the SS is out of the question, I'm wondering what sort of plastics are appropriate? I assumed that PVC would be appropriate, but have been told that it can break...
