MElam,
I did try that and it works on the face that has the rad dim, but it does not come into the detail view. I will just keep going with turning off some of the lines per with the properties.
Thanks

I am using 2003. I can make a detal of a section, but not a section of a section.
The option is grayed out so I can not select it to tun off the diameter dim.
Thanks

This does not work for a detail of a section view, unless I am missing something. I am able to get it to work the way you mentioned and I knew that, but I can not get it to work for a detail of a section view.

I want to put a dimension of a circle as a foreshortened radius in a detailed view of a side, section view.
Can this be done and how, other than changing the properties of the dim and turning off lines?
Thanks for the help.

sbmathias,
I agree with ctopher and bredley and go with some kind of PDM system. The question other asked are good, because if you are the only one using the files you can get a system and make it work for you, but if you get 2 or more users, just try to explain YOUR system to them and have...
That is great for someone who wants a watermark, or even uses a "standard" template, but I have several users who do not think they need to print with watermarks and will take them off.
Any ideas on that other than hand them a pink slip?
Sorry for not checking old threads.

2 question:
1 - I am looking for a way to print a watermark on everything printed from SolidWorks.
2 - In addition I want the user to not be able to turn off the watermark without admin rights.
What are my options? Or can it be done.

I need some help.
We use route lines when making assembly exploded views in our "product engineering" department. These are then great for our drawings. Then our "manufacturing engineering" department wants to use the "product eng" model to create process drawings. This is great, but our ME...
sldwkin is correct
You need to know what you are looking for before you select a PDM system. I have spent the last few years working in PDM and SolidWorks. It took us about 6 months to get one that worked for us with more than just engineering drawings and the fact that we will be using it in...
