Is locked rotor amps proportional to FLA or any other motor attribute that would allow a quick estimate of this value? As far as I know, this is a value supplied by the manufacturer or performed as a start-up check for large motors. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
What is the difference between full load shunt current testing and current injection testing? Is one method more suited for a given situation than the other? Do they both accomplish the same thing? I could use a nice overview if anyone can help. Thanks.
I have an application where a customer is doing preventive maintenance on 4160 kvac, 2000A switchgear. He wants "full current shunt testing" as opposed to "primary current injection testing". Need help on understanding both of these methods and how they're different. When is one method used...
