I dont really know much about UG yet, but my computer is running, 3Ghz Pentium 4 800FSB HT, 4.5 GB of fast memory, and a 128 ASUS NVIDIA Graphics card, and UG run's perfectly. I have had it crash once though, but only once. My machine is mainly set up for CFD as i do ALOT of that. You probably...
Yes, your patiece has been great, and i am indebted to you, I know people like me can be annoying most of the time, but we are just trying to learn. many many many thank.
So what is used for free-sorm, is free form built by surfacing??
and with the tangency, what are the c1 and g1 mean, if its...
Hi, sorry to be a pain, but can you tell me what is meant by the following.
Class A surfaces
The need for curvature - G2 or higher?? Whats the difference between having a tangent blend and G2
Whats primitives.
is free-form basically general solid shapes (squares, triangles, etc)
ok, I see, so say with the following examples (which some i wont be attempting to draw obviously casue there are far from my capabilities) from your experience, what aproach would you take, sold, surface or hybrid.
1: A cam shatft and piston
2: I full engine block
3: a car body
4: A wheel
5: a...
Hi all, was wondering, as a newbie to UG, what do you feel is better to concentrate on learning solid modeling, or sheet modeling. Also, in what cases is it better to model using solid modeling and when better to use sheet (surfacing) modelling??
Thanks tim, your help is making a lot easier that it would be with out such feedback. Mnay thanks to you all.
I the taper by, having two circles, about 5 cm away from each other, and of different diameters (small on above the larger one) I then tried to taper by selecting both the circles, but...
Hi, no offence taken, people have to start somewhere, and I learn a lot better from peoples advice than from books, rather be a team than an indiviual stuck in a book. The preselect was already on, but in the end, I just located the name of the arc and inputed it in the name box manually, seemed...
Im basically trying to select a circle to apply a sweep operation on, but its selecting another circle too, and i dont want it to, how do I prevent this. I dont get the 3 small boxes you suggested Tim.
does any one know, some rough standard values (obviously they are different for each car) but of the pressure or velocity of the exhaust gas entering the manifold, also, the temperature, chemical composition, and turbulence values??
Many thanks
can anyone tell me, I seem to be having a noob problem. When i select a circle, it selects another as well when i only want to select one, how do i stop this or select just one. Sorry
no, would that be a better method of doing it. #
Basically i have 4 exhaust outlets (circles), they will then be pair up in to one down pipe (so left two joined and right two joined). The plan was to do this via the sweep function and unite, then the two new down pipes to be joined into one. Do...
thank mate, done the transform rotate way you said. One thing, I am makeing a exhaust system, have 4 outlets, and first 2 sets of outlets contect into each other, now i have created an angled arc and sweept the exhaust diamter round and united the two together. how ever on the other two Im...
Hey all, how is the best way to create a angled arc. I.E, say the arc is created on the xy plane, but you wanted it to tilt in to the z axis aswell???
Sorry for the noob question
its ok, i have found my documentation now :( sorry
Where would it be under about surfacing....sorry to be such a noob, its just very daunting when you first start up :(
Hmmm, I dont know how to do that, will have to read about that in the documents. Is it fairly simple, I tired just revolving the nose end curve but it did not revolve perpendicular to the nose surface, and it looked like a big blob on the end!!!
